Latin America’s leader in global mobile advertising, today announced that veteran Latin American online advertising and digital marketing executive Cecilia Gómez Leivas has joined the company as Southern Cone Regional Manager, a new position created to reflect StartMeApp’s ongoing expansion in the rapidly growing Latin American market for mobile advertising services.
Cecilia Gómez Leivas brings to her new position with StartMeApp more than 15 years of experience in marketing and business development in the digital content industry throughout Latin America. Based in Buenos Aires, Ms. Gómez Leivas will be responsible for oversight of all operations, business development and client relations for StartMeApp’s extensive list of agency and corporate advertising customers in the South American Southern Cone countries of Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay.
Latin America continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions worldwide for smartphone penetration, a key indicator of future mobile advertising growth, with research firm Gartner estimating the percentage of Latin America’s population using smartphone devices to nearly double from 11% in 2012 to 21% in 2015. Leading that growth in Spanish-speaking Latin America is South America’s Southern Cone region, where current smartphone penetration in regional leader Argentina is already at 24% of the country’s 41 million population, translating into more than 10 million smartphone users and potential mobile advertising customers today.

As a Co-Founder of leading Argentine digital design and marketing agency Genes Interactive, Ms. Gómez Leivas was integrally involved from 1999-2008 in all sales and marketing aspects of the business, including key account management of United International Pictures (UIP), Universo online (UOL), Claxson, El Sitio.com and others. From 2004-2008, she simultaneously served as Senior Consultant to leading Latin American online employment portal, Bumeran.com, responsible for the planning and implementation of Bumeran’s human resources channels for the recruitment and hiring of personnel by large corporations.
During her 15-year career in digital advertising and marketing, Ms. Gómez Leivas also has served as project director and consultant in digital advertising and marketing to numerous companies throughout Latin America, including Grupo Dridco, Next Informática, Diario Ambito Financiero and Ternium-Siderar. Immediately prior to joining StartMeApp she was responsible for all digital sales and online marketing strategies of Editora Panamá América (EPASA), where as Digital Sales Manager she managed all commercial and digital advertising aspects of EPASA’s seven online newspaper, magazine, advertising and entertainment portals, including the planning and successful launch of the group’s online classified advertising portal, Clasiguia.
